Are you paying too much at the dentist? DentalPlans.com can help!

If you suffer with frequent migraines.  There is a new dental appliance that may offer you help.  It is called a NTI dental appliance and is explained very well by a post written by www. diblingdental.com.  Here are some excerpts from that post that may help you.

” America’s 29 million migraine sufferers spend dizzying sums of money to purchase medication to treat their pain.  Many aren’t aware there is a cost effective migraine preventative available through dentists.  A dental apliance called the NTI-tss Plus is FDA approved for the prevention of migraine pain.”

This is an amazing statistic concerning the NTI-tss dental device:

“In clinical trials reviewed by the FDA, 82% of medically diagnosed migraine suffers using the NTI-tss had a 77% average reduction of migraine pain attacks within the first eight weeks of use.  Unlike migraine medications, there are no side effects, and the device is safe for pregnant women.”

This is how it works.

“The NTI-tss works by reducing jaw clenching during sleep.  It fits over the central teeth on the bottom arch of the mouth and keeps the molars and canines from touching.  My patients unconsciously clench and grind their teeth at night.  For some, clenching serves as a catalyst for migraine inducing strain on the muscles in the head and face.”

“The NTI-tss also works for patients who grind their teeth at night and need a bite guard.  It is much smaller and less obtrusive than a full-coverage guard, and works just as well at preventing damage to the teeth from bruxing (unconscious grinding of the teeth).”

“I believe the use of the NTI has greatly reduced both the frequency and intensity of my migraine attacks”, said Ann, an NTI user.  “It sounds dramatic but I feel as if I have my life back”.

If you are a frequent migraine sufferer I hope this information posted by www.diblingdental.com will give you some direction on the future treatment of your migraines.

This video gives you a great visual explanation on the NTI dental device and how it can possibility help you with migraine headaches.

Its amazing that your dentist may possibility be the one that can help you it you are living in misery with frequent migraines

These are some excerpts from a informative post titled “Can a Dentist Help People With Migraines?” by Encino, CA. dentist Allan Melnick www.focusedcaredental.com.   He makes a suggestion in his post that makes a lot of sense and that is to consult with an ENT doctor first to rule out any medical causes and then schedule an appointment with your dentist.

“As many as 36 million Americans suffer from migraine pain such as headaches, and women are 3 times more likely to suffer from this debilitating pain than men according to the ADA (American Dental Association) .”

“There is now a dental device approved by the Food and Drug Administration that may relieve many migraines or tension headaches without costly drugs or side effects. For the people who suffer from severe tension headaches, migraines, or intense pain from TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) or bruxism,( the grinding or clenching of teeth while sleeping) relief is on the way.”

“Very often those with frequent and severe symptoms may experience increased tooth sensitivity, headaches, debilitating migraines, earaches and chronic facial pain.  Pinpointing one specific cause to migraines such as sleep bruxism or TMJ is nearly impossible. Both physical and psychological causes include anxiety, stress, suppressed anger, aggressive or hyperactive personality, or complications from systemic  disease or disorder.”

Continuing with Dr. Melnick’s article he recommends  a device that many dentists are using that is doing wonders for many of their patients suffering with migraines.

“The small NTI-tss device is made of acrylic resin and can be easily removed since it simply snaps onto the two front teeth. It can be custom made quickly, sometimes within one visit.  Worn while sleeping, the intense activity caused by the jaw muscles flexing is reduced by preventing the contact of the lower and upper back molar teeth.”

“More and more dental practitioners are offering this device as part of their practice. In a matter of days you could potentially relieve your migraine pain and other side effects from TMJ or bruxism.  With no injections or time-consuming appointments you may be able to fully regain your life, and a good night’s sleep at the same time.”

This is a great u tube interview featuring Dr. James Boyd DDS. explaining the NTI Appliance and the results that some people can expect from using it.

NTI Appliance – Advanced Dental Night guard – Prevent Grinding, clenching, and migraines.

If you have exhausted your medical avenues you may actually have dental migraines.  Your dentist may be the one to help you with your migraines.  Schedule an appointment and check out the NTI-tss device.

Have you been going through life hiding your teeth? If you have crooked front teeth you are fully aware that can put a damper on your smile.  Have you been considering during something about this predicament that has held you down for years?

Since this condition can drag you down emotionally you may be at the point that you are ready to do something about it.  Of course I know you are well aware that the only way you can straighten your teeth are with braces.

Since you don’t want to be one of those people with crooked teeth I would like to share with you a brief summary of some things you may want to consider to help you make a decision on if you should get braces.

The first thing you should probably check out is the type of braces that are available to you.  This post will get you familiar with what’s available but your final choice will probably be based on cost and your orthodontist recommendation.

Most common types of braces for teeth:

The well known metal braces have been around for many years.  Even though they are not necessarily cosmetic pleasing they have a long history of being reliable in fixing crooked teeth.

Some people choose ceramic braces over metal braces because they are more aesthetically gratifying since they are mostly clear and are not as noticeable.

If you teeth aren’t very crooked you should consider Invisalign braces.  These are aligners that fit over your teeth to gradually bring them into alignment.

Lingual braces are becoming very popular because they are located behind your teeth and can’t be seen.  They basically do the same job as metal braces but are located in the back of your teeth.

Next the all important questions for anyone considering braces is how much do they cost and how are you going to pay for them.

What is going to be the price tag on braces?

This is going to depend largely on how crooked your teeth are, the type of braces recommended by your orthodontist and the follow up visits for adjustments.

While there is not a set cost because of the above factors a good average cost of braces is around $5,500.

Braces are expensive so what are your options to pay for them:

1.  While this may not be an option for most people you can consider paying for them with your own money.  That is if you have an extra $5,500 lying around.

2.  You will find that most orthodontist’s offices will make a payment plan available to their patients since braces are so expensive.

Some of this financing is actually done through an outside finance company which will charge interest.  Consider that this cost will be over and above the actual price of the braces.

3.  If you are fortunate enough to have dental insurance through your employer it will pay up to the maximum allowed on the policy which is usually on an average of $1,000 to $1,500.

There is normally a waiting period for braces and also if you are purchasing it on an individual basis it can be expensive.

4.  An affordable option to help pay for braces is a discount dental plan.  There is also no waiting period for braces.

It will allow you to go to participating orthodontists in your area for a pre-arranged discount for braces and orthodontic work.  This discount will be around $1000 and sometimes more.

I would like to offer you a tip if you are interested in exploring the affordable dental discount plans.  I am a representative for over 30 of these plans.

I suggest you review these plans to explore the orthodontic options for crooked front teeth.  Just type in your zip code and it will bring up all the plans and dentists in your area.  Pick out the orthodontists and it will list the plan they will accept.

My tip is to just call their office and ask for the discount for orthodontic work on braces.  You may find a great discount by putting out just a little extra effort.  Just go here.

RC_STU~1Are you having signs of dental problems?  It may be time to wake up and get to the dentist because you may be on your way to serious dental complications.

You also need to be aware that these complications can sometimes predict major health problems like heart disease or diabetes.

So perhaps you are putting off your dental visit.  If you are like me it could be because of financial reasons because it is expensive.  It could also be because of just plain old procrastination, or maybe the perceived pain you think you will receive at the dentist.

To help relieve you of some of the stress that is keeping you from maybe your first dentist visit in years I’m going to share with you my personal experience at the dentist.

My goal is help you see that going to the dentist is really a piece of cake and it will motivate you to call and make your own dental appointment.

Also toward the end of this article I am going to help you break down the barrier that keeps most of us from going to the dentist because it can be costly.  As you will see I learned the tough way since it hit me hard in the pocketbook.

Upon my arrival for my dental appointment I was a bit apprehensive but that went away   because the staff was so nice.  They explained to me that we would do a complete evaluation to address my dental health.

That sounded fine because I knew I had some problems that needed to be fixed.

First they took some digital x-rays to look for any decay in my teeth.  They were also looking for gum disease, the condition of the roots of my teeth and other signs of dental problems.

Oh by the way they found a cavity that was giving me some pain.  That was fixed during my first visit and what a relief it was to be free of the hurting.

After this things were looking pretty good but to my dismay I found my delay in going to the dentist was going to cost me big.

As a result of the x-rays an infection was detected in one of my teeth.  That resulted in a root canal procedure done at a later appointment.  I was thankful for this because it saved my tooth.

To add to my years of neglect I had to get a dental crown also.

My overall dental visits were very positive and virtually pain free.  My mistake was that I waited so long to pay attention to my dental health.  Most of the work I had done could have been avoided by regular visits to the dentist.

You are probably wondering how much did all this cost.  I didn’t have dental insurance because like the cost of going to the dentist it can be expensive.   All the dental work that had to be done was out of my pocket which set me back about $3000.

So how can you go to the dentist without putting out a bunch of money like me?

Earlier in the article I mentioned a way that you can save some money if you decide to not to make the mistakes I made.  But first you need to book that appointment for your first dentist visit in years.

A word to the wise to keep your dental expenses in the affordable range you are going to have to have some type of affordable dental plan that will help you pay the bill.

I wish I would have known about these low cost dental plans because it really would have helped me lower my cost a whole bunch in my dental visit we talked about in this article.

If you look here you will see I have made available thirty affordable dental plans I would like for you to review.  I feel it will certainly be worth your time to review the plans and the dentists available to you in your area and you will be pleasantly surprised at the low cost of these plans.

Man Holding Forehead --- Image by © Royalty-Free/CorbisAre you sick and tired of toothache pain? Most of us have experienced this excruciating pain at one time or another.  So how do you stop it and all the misery that goes along with it?

Does this describe you? Are you hurting and need immediate relief.  Should you try a natural remedy, over the counter medication or go to the dentist.

This article will give you four ways to provide temporary relief of this problem.  The fifth remedy will be a permanent solution to your pain.

These are five remedies that may help you:

1. Try a clove of garlic. You can pick it up at your grocery store.  It is inexpensive and can offer some people immediate relief.

Just peel the clove of garlic and place in the area of the mouth where you are experiencing pain.  Bite down on it and hold for a few minutes to let it soak into the affected area.

Sometimes this can cause some burning but usually goes away after a couple of minutes.  If the burning persists just rinse with warm salt water and this should give some immediate relief.

2. Clove oil which can be purchased at most stores that sell spices works well for relief of a toothache.

Clove oil will work well if the tooth has developed a cavity.  Just get a cotton ball put a few drops of clove oil on it push it in the cavity and bite down and this may give you some pain relief.

3. Other remedies that you can use with a cotton ball are vanilla extract, or other extracts such as peppermint or lemon.

Like clove oil just put a few drops of the extract you choose on the cotton ball bite down and hopefully you will get relief.

4. To get some immediate relief you will probably need to take a trip to the drugstore.

Over the counter medications such as anbesol and oragel that you can rub on the area around the tooth can numb the pain temporally.

Also any of the standby pain medications such as naproxen, acetaminophen and ibuprofen can offer relief until you can get help.

5. As you might suspect the toothache pain remedies discussed in this article are temporary and you will probably have to schedule an appointment with the dentist if the condition worsens and you need a permanent solution.

Since you are exploring options for relief of your pain is it possible you are trying to avoid a dental visit.  This could because of a fear of going to the dentist or maybe financial reasons.

If your toothache is temporally relieved but comes back a dental visit will be mandatory because you could have an underlying infection which could develop into serious problems.

In conclusion many of the remedies to help with toothache pain discussed in this article from clove of garlic, clove oil, various extracts and over the counter medications can be a big help when you experiencing the misery of a toothache.

But what if the pain doesn’t stop? The only way you’re going to fix it is to go ahead and schedule that appointment with the dentist. As mentioned earlier one of the reasons for delaying this visit is that you may know it is going to hit you hard in the pocket book.

If a trip to the dentist is in your future read a little further for some information to help you go online to find some affordable options to get a permanent fix for your toothache pain.

I recommend that you do an free online search to find an affordable dental plan in your area to get rid on your pain for good.

There are four types of personal dental plans you should consider before you make a decision to make this important purchase for you or your family.  Each plan is different in the benefits you will receive and the cost could vary greatly.

1.  The type of plan most us are familiar with has a deductible that you must pay out of your pocket for dental services before the plan will pay anything toward your bill.  Sometimes a co-insurance of ten to twenty percent can be added to the deductible.  This plan is commonly known as an indemnity or a traditional plan.

A positive aspect of the traditional plans is there is a large group of dentists that you can choose from.  A downside that you should consider is the traditional or indemnity plans can be expensive when you consider the cost of the insurance coverage and added to that you have your out of pocket deductible expenses.

2.  A dental PPO plan is one of the personal dental plans that is different from traditional dental insurance in that you have less freedom in your choice of a dentist.  Your dentist will belong to a group of dentists that have agreed to accept reduced fees for their services.

The PPO plan should be more affordable than the traditional plan in that with the PPO you are only responsible for a small deductible or co-pay at the time of your visit.  Another plus with the PPO is that you can schedule an appointment with a dentist out of the network.  If you decide to do this it is important to remember that dental appointments out of network are subject to a deductible and you will not be able to use your co-pay.

3.  A dental HMO plan is similar to a medical HMO that you may be familiar with.  You will have a network of dentists to choose from.  Once you have chosen the dentist that you would like to have as your primary dentist this dentist will attend to all of your primary dental needs.  If you need to have some type of specialty work this dental office will arrange your visit to the dental specialist.

Unlike a dental PPO with the dental HMO you cannot go outside of the network.  You could be responsible for the entire bill for this visit.  Also this type of plan is usually associated with a large employee group and don’t always cater to individuals.

4.  Out of all the personal dental plans a discount dental plan may meet your needs especially if you recently lost your coverage through a job loss, or maybe you find yourself in a financial crunch because of the economy.  This plan is a great alternative to the other three plans we have discussed because it is very affordable.

This type of plan actually gives you generous discounts on the services offered by the dentist.  The discounts can range from ten percent to sixty percent and generally the more costly the procedure the larger the discount.  The dentists that accept this plan don’t belong to a network.  Each dentist will decide on an individual basis which dental discount plans he or she will accept.  There are many thousands of dentists in the United States that accept this type of plan.

So how can you decide which of the personal dental plans would be a good fit for you or your family.  Going online to get more information and to compare various plans for benefits and costs of the different plans would be a good start.
